The Known Secret
A gloomy day in the park brightens for Netto when old friends MiuMiu and Saloma appear. They share exciting news: the legendary Commander Beef is returning to Japan. Netto is overjoyed, until his other friends, Meiru and Dekao, reveal they, along with everyone else, have known for a year that the hero is actually the unassuming Masa-san. Only Netto and a jealous Higure were oblivious to the poorly kept secret.
Shadowy Undertones
Beyond the domestic comedy, MiuMiu and Saloma reveal a darker mission. They are tracking Nebula agents who are attempting to flood Japan with dangerous Dark Chips. At the airport, they spot Gaus Magnus, a wealthy and arrogant cyber-crime syndicate leader, confirming their suspicions that he is the key player in this illegal trade. The true stakes of their presence in the city are quickly laid bare.
Masa-san's Awkward Welcome
Masa-san returns to Japan with his usual boisterous cheer, completely unaware his secret identity is an open book. Netto and his friends greet him with painful awkwardness, their forced laughter and strained conversation an attempt to uphold the elaborate lie. Later, Masa-san grandly treats them to a sushi feast, only to watch in growing horror as the children voraciously consume enormous quantities, oblivious to his rapidly dwindling funds.
Higure's Jealous Outburst
A visibly depressed Higure, seething with jealousy over Masa-san's hero status, runs into Mariko-sensei. In a moment of weakness, he blurts out the unbelievable truth: Masa-san is Commander Beef. Mariko-sensei, a devoted fan, is stunned and immediately determined to confirm the revelation. She charges off, leaving Higure to regret his rash words.
Damage Control at the Sushi Shop
Mariko-sensei bursts into the sushi shop, directly confronting Masa-san. Higure and Masa-san quickly devolve into a childish shouting match. To protect Masa-san's feelings, Netto and the others frantically intervene, spewing a series of elaborate insults to convince Mariko-sensei that Masa-san is far too 'smelly' and 'lame' to be a hero. Their harsh words achieve the desired effect; Mariko-sensei leaves laughing, but Masa-san is left deeply insulted by his friends' bizarre defense.
The Abduction at the Market
Netto and Masa-san travel to the Densan Fish Market, still unsettled by the earlier confrontation, unaware Mariko-sensei is following them, her curiosity unquenched. Deep within the market's industrial area, Gaus Magnus prepares for a Dark Chip exchange with Yuriko. Gaus, mistaking Mariko-sensei for his contact due to her similar hairstyle, aggressively kidnaps her, ignoring her terrified pleas as she drops her shopping bag.
The Hero's Convenient Illness
Netto and Masa-san discover Mariko-sensei's dropped bag of firefly squid, instantly deducing her abduction. Masa-san, needing to secretly prepare for action, suddenly clutches his stomach, feigning an agonizing cramp and rushing off behind crates to find a 'bathroom'. Meanwhile, back at his shop, a determined Higure is revealed to have spent hours sewing dozens of Commander Beef costumes, using a tracking device to pinpoint Masa-san's location, and planning his own rival rescue.
The Warehouse Confrontation
Inside the Kamasuisan warehouse, Yuriko waits for Gaus's arrival. Gaus enters, dragging a terrified Mariko-sensei, leading to a comical moment of realization when Yuriko points out his obvious error. Mariko-sensei continues to threaten them with the law, just as Netto arrives on his motorized cart, ready to confront the villains despite being outnumbered.
The Tuna Hostage Situation
Commander Beef makes a dramatic entrance, striking a heroic pose atop a stack of industrial crates and reciting his classic motto. He jumps down to confront Gaus Magnus, but the villain is prepared. Gaus produces a large, fresh tuna and holds a knife to its gills, threatening to slice the fish if the hero moves. Masa-san's extreme reverence for seafood leaves him utterly incapacitated, falling to his knees in despair for the innocent fish.
A Swarm of Heroes
Just as Gaus prepares to finish off the incapacitated Commander Beef, a massive fleet of people dressed exactly like Commander Beef streams into the warehouse. Led by Higure, the kids all strike identical poses and recite the hero's catchphrase in unison, completely bewildering both Gaus and Mariko-sensei. This sudden, chaotic distraction allows the real Masa-san to recover and blend seamlessly into the crowd.
Digital Justice and Farewell
The battle shifts to the digital world as the Navis, including Mega Man and SharkMan, Jack-In to face MagnetMan. MagnetMan uses his magnetic fields to challenge them, but the combined efforts of Mega Man's 'Step Sword' and SharkMan's 'Aqua Tower' ultimately delete the dark Navi. With his Navi defeated, Gaus Magnus is cornered and apprehended by Commander Beef, much to Mariko-sensei's admiration. As the sun sets, Masa-san bids farewell from his boat, sailing off once more as Netto attempts a profound speech about the inner hero, and Higure is left sulking in typical jealous fashion.
