The world-building is crazy in this episode. Very realistic that anything can happen in a competition. And Gramps's banner was so wholesome :')

Yuna's backstory was definitely unexpected but it was necessary. Rivalry is brewing. Can't wait to see the next episode. This competition is so intense aaaaa

Yuna's performance was omg the animation and her thoughts behind it make the stakes feel higher than before. BUT that last line by Inori was literally goosebumps! What a cliffhanger!!

The Queen pushes her program to the limit with a risky triple lutz/triple loop combo, but other than that, there wasn't much to look at. This episode just didn't work for me.

A fantastic rival-focus episode. Yuna’s pride, ambition, and emotional drive make her performance unforgettable, and the standing ovation moment raises the pressure perfectly just before Inori’s turn.

The rivalry energy here is insane. You can feel pride, pressure, and a bit of desperation all mixing together. Even small decisions feel huge. The tension spikes hard without needing anything flashy.

The introduction of the rival is handled quietly, but you notice it through performance quality, not hype.
What stands out is how clean their execution looks compared to Inori.
That contrast alone shifts the pressure without needing explanation.
Rating: 8.7/10

breath tightens as Yuna Yagi attempts her combo, that split-second hesitation before takeoff says everything. even after the fall, her recovery hits strong, though rival focus feels brief. still a powerful moment 💔

This episode is focus on Yuuna Yagi one of the contestant and one of the student of Shinichirou. the animation is so god damn great and how fluid it is and plus the music choice to the performance is so sync and i feel it. I can't wait for Inori's performance next episode

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the strategic groundwork laid in Episode 2's 'My Cards,' this episode pivots from preparation to execution, immersing viewers in the tournament itself through a rival's lens. By dedicating an entire episode to Yuna Yagi's performance and psychology, it raises the competitive bar before Inori takes the ice in Episode 4's 'Ascendance.' Positioned early in a tight nine-episode season, it's a crucial world-building beat that ensures the upcoming performances land with maximum emotional weight.
