Synopsis

Hikaru Amatsuga's days of tranquility come to a sudden end when he rescues Alma, a mechanical arm crying for help. Alma fuses with his jacket, introducing Hikaru to the world of mechanical arms: mysterious, sentient weapons that normally become a part of their users' bodies. Forced to flee for his life, Hikaru is eventually captured by Aki Murasame, a twin mechanical arms user working for ARMS, an organization that protects the machines against unethical treatment. The Kagami Group, a nefarious organization that treats mechanical arms as mere tools, seeks to recover Alma. Hikaru is deemed a failure by ARMS for his lack of natural predisposition to be an mechanical arm wielder, so Aki is assigned to be his bodyguard. But Aki is defeated by Jun Kagami, who cruelly tears out her two mechanical limbs, condemning the girl to a slow death. Unwilling to abandon Aki to her grim fate, Hikaru miraculously awakens his power and neutralizes Kagami. Now a full member of ARMS, Hikaru is determined to unravel the truth about mechanical arms and protect his newfound friends and allies.

Well, that was an experience. Thats one way to "conclude" Aki's backstory however its somewhat unsatisfying. The worm type Mecha-ude that supposed to be somewhat powerful felt a little lackluster. Theres so much more potential to the "bad guy" i fear that we wont reach, and what's up with Hikaru's movement? We rarely got to see him train yet he's getting more powerful and agile as the story progress. Still, this is an action packed-emotionally investing episode.

Fiuhh.. What a wild ride. The final battle looked super stylish, and the animation during action scenes was honestly so fun to watch. I do wish some parts had more time to breathe because everything moved so fast, but overall it was really entertaining. Hikaru and Alma’s journey ended up being more emotional than I expected too. Messy? A little. Fun? Definitely yes. I’m gonna miss this anime! Solid 9/10 for making me eat my words after doubting it at first 😂

Dang… things are getting bigger and more complicated. I could really feel Aki’s inner struggle here, especially how much she blames herself and tries to fix everything. But somehow, the answer never seems simple 😔 I was a bit confused why the focus shifted to characters besides the MC, but maybe it’ll connect later. Also, the visuals remain sooo pretty, especially how colorful each Mecha-Ude looks. Feels like their design reflects their personality.
