Episode Context

After Episode 7 widened the chaos by pulling Mikasa and Nino fully into the affection meter rivalry, Episode 8 channels that accumulated tension into a single explosive climax where Kanata finally stops reacting and takes a decisive step forward with Marika. As the eighth and final episode of the season, it brings the core romantic premise to its most extreme expression, offering closure to Kanata's escalating supernatural ordeal while leaving Marika's famously broken meter as unpredictable as ever, there is no next episode to set up, making every moment here count as the series' definitive statement.
