The full extent of Rei’s psychological state of mind is presented before us as a foreplay of catchy visual metaphors. Meanwhile, the commencement of the Rookie tournament happens fast, and Nikaidou expressing friendship and vaulting ambition turns really embarrassing for Rei.

A softer, almost comforting episode that gives breathing room. The slice-of-life moments land naturally, and the tone feels warm without losing its underlying melancholy. Easy watch, especially if you like the calmer, healing side of the series.

Lowkey painful… the bullying arc starts and you already feel tension building. It’s not fast but it stacks emotions HARD. Watch for story depth, skip if you want hype. 😞
