Episode Context

Coming directly after Episode 4's 'The Shorinkyo Incident', a visceral arc involving cult-linked murders, Episode 5 pivots the tone toward quieter, more localized supernatural unease, broadening the show's scope beyond its central cast dynamic. 'The Keystone' introduces the disturbances in Gogyo Town as a new thread, suggesting the world's supernatural disruptions are spreading in ways that extend beyond individual incidents. This episode appears to lay groundwork for deeper exploration of the forces destabilizing the natural and spiritual order throughout the series.
