Episode Context

Coming directly off Episode 14 ("The Iron Mask"), which opened the trail around Yurako and the forces behind the imperial-capital tensions, Episode 15 accelerates that conflict by placing Mao directly in Shiranui's orbit. It sits at the midpoint of a 26-episode season, marking a clear shift from setup toward escalation. The episode feeds forward into Episode 16 ("Hakubi"), suggesting this confrontation with Shiranui is far from resolved.
