Manga Café Mishaps
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Cursed in the most specific, perpetually inconvenient way imaginable, Keiichi Oyamada perpetually ends up in sexual situations with every woman he meets, completely against his intentions. It has cost him job after job. His latest attempt at stable employment lands him at a manga café, courtesy of a well-meaning best friend who figures the low-key environment might be safe enough. It is not. Within his first shift, he runs into Rei Suzukawa, a coworker with a quiet, unreadable personality, and Kururu Hiiragi, a childhood friend who turns up as a regular customer. Keiichi genuinely wants to keep this job. His curse has other plans. The setup is comedic in structure: bumbling protagonist, absurd premise, confined workplace setting, and the series leans into that rather than pretending otherwise. There are four episodes, all OVA format, so it moves quickly without much padding. The tone is lighter than something like Dropout, which carries more weight in its scenarios. If you have watched Futabu! and appreciated hentai that commits to a comedic bit rather than dropping all pretense of story, Mankitsu Happening sits in similar territory. It is not reinventing anything, but the 'curse as narrative engine' framing gives it a consistent internal logic that keeps things moving. Adapted from a visual novel by Collaboration Works, it does what it sets out to do without overcomplicating itself.

so good
Muito bom?
Good I like it good amazing
Good I like it good amazing
That miso soup machine moment hit hard and seeing Meiko cry over it because it tasted like her grandmother's cooking made me want to grab a bowl of soup too
I really felt for Meiko when she was crying after the ceremony because that dogeza was painful to watch, but then Neo just sat there with the handkerchief and it was so sweet. It's crazy how Rie just assumes she is a genius artist because of her name and now she has to live that lie while working at the cafe because she can't afford to get kicked out
Marika living under a beanbag and coming out like a colorful pajama onion was hilarious and Meiko trying to peel her was even better because she was so scared
Rie just casually hired a whole moving company and bought an entire floor of the building just to store her manga collection and it is the level of wealth that feels unreal
I still can't believe Meiko did a full dogeza in front of the whole school and Rie just called it a traditional greeting and it was the most awkward thing I have seen this year
That crude stick figure being framed during the credits after such a chaotic first day made the whole ending feel much more personal
Marika forgetting her pants and then saying they are a hindrance to her freedom in the beanbag is a highlight for her character
The transition from the peaceful countryside to Meiko standing in a dark hallway guarded by a Haniwa statue was such a mood shift and it set the tone perfectly
I really wasn't sure what to expect with this, but the dynamic between the girls is so fun. Watching Meiko freak out over the size of her room and then seeing Rie literally buy an entire floor of the building to store her manga collection was a trip and the "genius artist" misunderstanding is going to be hilarious
Neo being a pro gamer with that massive setup while looking like a doll was a great twist and her focus during that fighting game was incredible
It was so painful when Meiko tried to prove she cannot draw, and Rie decided her terrible stick figure was actually high-level minimalist art
That moment Rie called a whole moving company and bought the fourth floor just to store her books was such a flex
Marika living in a beanbag like a little onion with ten layers of pajamas made me feel seen on a spiritual level
That miso soup machine moment was hilarious because Meiko was literally crying over the taste of chemicals and preservatives
I felt so bad for Meiko when she did that dogeza in front of the whole school and Rie just kept making it worse by calling her a genius
