Man, just from the first episode alone, I can already feel the emotional tension. That said, I really love how mature Goro is. Even so, it’s still easy to see that he’s just a child. Craftsmanship-wise, the visuals are clearly very old school, but the animation is smooth and clean. This is really commendable.

The first episode seems to set the tone and pace of the story to be pretty solid. We are introduced to the main character of the story. Gorou. I like how cheerful he is and the funny scenes in this episode which involved him. A great episode in introducing some of the important characters in this anime's season.

This is a promising start. The first episode was interesting, with Goro's passion for baseball. The plot was mixed with emotions and dedication, making the tone hopeful and inspiring. The animation and art style were great even though it was released in 2004. Overall, an engaging starter.
