Kaichou wa Maid-sama is such a beloved classic. Not only is it one of the OG series that started the troupe of the tomboy female who has a feminine secret. But just from the first episode, there's allusion of a capable woman in power amidst a male-dominated setting that can easily resonate with teenage audiences, showing how Misaki needs to dominance or masculine trait in order keep a degree of respect from her peers. Thus, hiding her maid job can become a metaphor for hiding her femininity to keep that respect, something that can happen in real life. The animations are hilarious as the creative really have fun in that 2000s style of animation. Usui Takumi is also such a good male lead. His interest for Misaki stem purely from his respect and worry for her. I also love the fact Misaki's pride and prejudice is a setup for point of growth. The fact that Misaki is a girl who always has to take care of others because of trauma and circumstances, makes her compatible with someone who can keep up with her in order to take care of her.
