Maid Meshimase
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Fresh out of training and still learning the ropes, Mahya gets assigned to the residence of a Professor Takahata as a brand-new hire at a delivery maid service. Straightforward enough job, right? Except the person waiting for her is not actually the professor — he's a male student who's taken over the place and has no intention of coming clean about it. Mahya has no idea, and that gap between what she thinks is happening and what's actually going on is where this single-episode OVA from 2001 does its thing. The dynamic between an unsuspecting newcomer just trying to do her job and someone actively deceiving her creates a tension that drives the whole runtime. It's short — one episode, roughly 30 minutes — so it doesn't overstay its welcome. If you've watched something like Oshiete Re: Maid and appreciated the maid-service premise with a twist layered on top, this scratches a similar itch. It's not as polished or character-driven as something like Maid Sama!, but it's not trying to be. What it is trying to do — build a scenario around deception and an unwitting participant — it manages within its runtime. Produced by Obtain Future, it's a straightforward hentai OVA that leans into its setup without much preamble. Go in knowing what it is, and it delivers exactly that.
