Those close up shots of Lilustear in the middle of the fight really highlight why this studio is the best at this specific genre

Hamelder is such a generic evil group and their motives are so boring that I found myself checking the time halfway through

It hit me how much Rin has changed since the start, especially after she stepped in to save Sumire

The animation on Frostia felt a bit stiff compared to the last two episodes but the costume design for Rin still looks great

Lilustear getting cornered by those Hamelder goons and finally letting out that special move was everything

Those Utena reaction shots are carrying the show right now even if the actual fight animation was lacking and looked a little cheap in some spots

It seems like neither side actually wants to win the war, which makes the whole thing feel like one big messed up playground for Utena and her friends

I was shocked they actually kept the Magenta pasties scene from the manga and it proves this adaptation is staying loyal to the source

That symbiotic thing between the girls is getting weirder every week and seeing how Magenta is basically losing her mind over Baiser was wild to watch

Utena panicking about her failing grades while trying to lead an evil organization had me rolling because it makes her so much more relatable than a standard villain. The threat of her mom taking away her magical girl privileges is way scarier than any fight and I love how mundane the consequences are for her secret double life

The way the translators are letting Kiwi and Sulfur talk is so trashy and it makes them sound way more foul than they probably are but it fits the degenerate vibe perfectly

You have to wonder what Lord Enorme is actually trying to do because world domination does not seem to be on the menu for these villains and they just seem happy to fight

I can relate so much to Utena failing her tests because she is too busy with her hobby and her mom taking her transformation gear away is the real threat here

The animation felt a bit stiff this time around with all those still frames but at least the faces Utena makes are still top tier and keep things funny

Magenta going that hard with the pasties was not something you see in every magical girl show and the staff really went for it today

That scene where the Hamelder leadership realizes they messed up by letting Lilustear get this strong was such a cool shift in the story

Hamelder taking her seriously now makes the pressure feel real, and the scenes with the executives getting worked up were a great touch.

Lilustear holding her own against the organization while the bosses freak out in the background is exactly the kind of progression this show needed

I think the Hamelder executives look way more menacing now that their designs are actually paired with a real plan to kill her off

The way the executives are actually getting scared of Lilustear makes the power dynamic feel way more intense this time around

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode four, this installment lands in the latter portion of what is typically a short-run OVA series, suggesting the narrative is either deepening existing dynamics or moving toward resolution. The preceding three episodes will have established the core characters and the magical conflict framing the story. This episode likely builds on those foundations, positioning whatever follows as a closing act.
