Mahou no Rouge Lipstick

Yuma has a crush on her neighbor Makoto, but faces a familiar problem — he's already dating her friend. Standard unrequited feelings stuff — except Yuma runs into a pig-shaped magical salesman who hands her a lipstick that transforms her into an older version of herself. She takes on the name Mia, gets a tiny fairy sidekick named Leap who lives inside the lipstick, and decides to use all of this to win Makoto over. The catch hanging over everything: what happens when the magic wears off mid-flirtation. This 1985 OVA takes the classic magical girl framework — the transformation, the cute companion, the wish-fulfillment premise — and points it somewhere a lot less innocent than Sailor Moon.
