Such a dark premise for a series. When we hear "magical girl," we usually think of something bubbly and dreamy, but this is far from it. The disturbing visuals, creepy faces, and dark themes made the episode genuinely uncomfortable to watch. It gives off Wonder Egg Priority vibes, but even darker.

What a way to start an anime series! Just when you thought it was the end, another story plot comes in, making you want to keep watching to see how it turns out in the end.

I'd recommend giving this series a try if you don't mind watching a magical girl anime with a much darker atmosphere, similar to Puella Magi Madoka Magica. The first episode does a great job showing that this isn't going to be a bright and cheerful magical girl story through a lot of Aya's scenes. A lot of the moments were pretty unsettling to watch, which did help build up the episode's dark and uneasy atmosphere for this series.

Aya is pitiful. She was bullied at school by her classmate and also abused by her brother. If i were like that, I would fight.

EPISODE CONTEXT

If you can stomach Aya's profoundly disturbing introduction to the magical girl genre, this episode offers a dark, compelling start that demands attention.
