📖 SYNOPSIS
Behind the remarkably low crime rates of Tokyo lies a secret: a government organization that trains orphaned girls into assassins called Lycoris to quietly eliminate threats before anyone notices. Takina Inoue is one of their best — disciplined, efficient, no-nonsense. Then she breaks protocol to save a teammate and gets booted from the main squad, reassigned to a café that doubles as a Lycoris front operation. Her new partner is Chisato Nishikigi, the most skilled Lycoris alive, who refuses to kill anyone. She dodges bullets like it's a casual hobby and handles dangerous missions with the energy of someone running weekend errands. The contrast between Takina's rigid intensity and Chisato's breezy warmth is the core of this 13-episode TV series, and their dynamic carries the whole thing. One episode you're watching beautifully choreographed gunfights animated by A-1 Pictures, the next they're helping a lost kid or dealing with café customers. It shifts between action and slice-of-life without feeling jarring, which is harder to pull off than it sounds. If you liked the child-soldier tension of Gunslinger Girl or the gun-toting women of Black Lagoon and Noir but want something with more breathing room and genuine warmth between its leads, this fits that space nicely. The action choreography alone is worth your time, but you'll stay for Chisato and Takina figuring each other out.
