Lupin the Third: Fujiko Mine's Lie
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Fujiko Mine is entangled in a web of deceit in a secluded desert house, where she's helping a man named Randy care for his frail son, Gene. This idyllic setting is built on lies, as Randy has embezzled a fortune, and Fujiko's initial interest seems purely self-serving. However, when a strange man arrives, sent by the corporation Randy stole from, to kill him, Fujiko unexpectedly heeds Randy's dying request to protect Gene. Driven to protect the boy, Fujiko's actions become increasingly complex. Yet, the question remains: is this a genuine act of care, or another layer of deception? Gene knows the location of the stolen money and refuses to reveal it until he avenges his father. The film explores themes of trust, betrayal, and the multifaceted nature of Fujiko Mine's character, leaving the audience to question whether anyone is truly playing a straight hand.
