Lu Over the Wall Episode 1: Episode 1

I just gave this a try and It actually felt nice. It reminded me of being a child again watching Ghibli films with my family. I love how Lu dances and it's actually entertaining. I usually dislike this kind of animations because it's childish but it was actually funny and cute.

It's a delightful film: I must highlight the creativity of the unique and entertaining animations, along with the excellent soundtrack, ideal for watching with the family. The friendship that develops between the protagonists, Kai and Lu, is captivating, with great chemistry, full of funny moments and catchy musical rhythms that keep you glued to the screen from beginning to end. I especially love the aura of magic and mystery that surrounds the story, which explores the tales of mermaids and their musical abilities. Furthermore, the film reflects on how fear and misunderstanding of the unknown can lead people to make the wrong decisions. The only downside is that the story is a bit slow, but everything else was great.

Its vibrant animation is one of its greatest strengths. From visuals being full of energy and having creative under water scenes, this movie feels magical. Using music as a bridge between characters, the soundtrack plays a huge role as a symbol of connection.

I found the animation a bit too cartoonish for my taste and it often felt aimed at a younger audience. Still, the colorful visuals and energetic soundtrack gave the film plenty of personality. The pacing is fast and chaotic, but the story's charm kept me engaged until the end.
