asuka_langley_181★★★★☆EP 1I really felt the tension when Taichi realized he was being targeted and had to rely on the Aoe house for protection because it made the world feel dangerous
When he accidentally swallows blood from Kuon Aoe, the most popular girl at school, regular high school student Taichi Amano finds his body suddenly beginning to awaken demi-humans just by being near them. It's as awkward as it sounds. In a world where humans and demi-humans quietly coexist, that kind of ability puts a target on your back fast. To keep him safe, the Aoe family pulls Taichi into a deal: help them awaken Kuon, and they'll protect him from whoever might come looking. That arrangement also brings him into contact with Kuon's mother, Mai, and a handful of other demi-human girls, each with their own connection to his strange new condition. The urban fantasy backdrop gives it a bit more texture than you'd expect from a 2-episode OVA; there's actual worldbuilding underneath the mature content, borrowing from the visual novel it's based on. Studio Seven handles the animation with their usual style, and the tone leans into the fantasy side more than some similar releases do. If you've watched Mama x Holic or anything else in that Atelier Kaguya lineup, you'll recognize the DNA here. Fans of Harukoi Otome who want something with a bit more supernatural edge might also find it worth the short runtime. It's a brief watch, the premise is genuinely interesting for the genre, and it does enough with its demi-human world to feel like more than just a backdrop.
Mysterious blue-haired girl with violet eyes, involved in a complex relationship.

asuka_langley_181★★★★☆EP 1I really felt the tension when Taichi realized he was being targeted and had to rely on the Aoe house for protection because it made the world feel dangerous
lexaeus★★★☆☆EP 1that whole plot about drinking blood to become a supernatural battery is a bit silly but the way Kuon treats Taichi after the contract is signed is interesting enough
lauriam_453★★★★☆EP 1watching Kuon finally start her awakening because of Taichi was a really strong ending for the first part and the colors they used for her demi-human form looked amazing
dankan_dancer_475★★★★☆EP 1it is a really wild setup where Taichi has to cooperate with the Aoe house in exchange for protection from other demi-humans and the supernatural art is great
jiro_jolt_127★★★★☆EP 1I think the way Taichi just happens to drink that blood by mistake is a really crazy way to kick things off and seeing how it physically changes him was cool
daemon_coder★★★☆☆EP 1The whole idea of blood changing someone into a magnet for supernatural girls is a classic trope and this adaptation does a solid job starting it off
tanuki_trickster_41★★☆☆☆EP 1Things escalated way too fast after that accident and now Taichi is deep in some supernatural mess he was not ready for
zettai_zetsumei_20★★★☆☆EP 1Kuon being the most popular girl while also having this secret demi-human side makes for a pretty interesting dynamic with Taichi
rengoku_radiance★★★☆☆EP 1My interest went way up when I saw how close the character designs are to the original game and the art is really polished
tsuyu_tsunami_125★★★★☆EP 1I was surprised by the supernatural twist, but the contract with the Aoe house felt a bit rushed even for a first volume.
ram_rage_145★★★★☆EP 1Getting hunted by demi-humans sounds like a nightmare for Taichi and now he has to do whatever Kuon says
ihateeveryone★★★★☆EP 1I think Kuon is way too pretty for a school girl and her family is basically forcing Taichi into this weird awakening contract
diana_376★★★☆☆EP 1The setup with the accidental blood drinking is pretty standard for these supernatural stories, but the art style really carries it well. It was strange how fast the Aoe family stepped in to claim Taichi once his new constitution kicked in, and now he is basically a human battery for awakening girls like Kuon and her friends.
ichigo_inoue_67★★★★☆EP 1Taichi drinking that blood was a huge mistake and now he is stuck with the Aoe family forever
shinobu_sting_130★★☆☆☆EP 1The way those demi-humans started reacting to him just because he had a sip of blood was kind of terrifying
demyx★★★☆☆EP 1I stayed for the part where they explain the contract between Taichi and the Aoe house because it makes the stakes feel real instead of just a generic setup
reiner_ronin★★★★☆EP 1Taichi reacting to his body changing after drinking that blood was pretty funny and Kuon being the one to take charge is a nice change
tanjiro_tidal★★★☆☆EP 1the setup with the demi humans is basically just an excuse for the usual stuff and the pacing felt a bit fast for a first volume but the art is decent
taiju_tenacity_158★★★★☆EP 1drinking that blood really changed my perspective on the show since the supernatural stuff feels like it has consequences and the Aoe family lore is interesting
miko_iino_163★★★☆☆EP 1that blood drinking scene at the start was kind of intense and the way Kuon looks when she is transforming is way better than I expected
