This film's setup feels heavy at first but it gradual goes through a catharsis. This narrative is the key here. The animation of the castle interior is gorgeous, full of grand structures and an almost eerie stillness. The pace takes its time to let you feel everything. I personally felt this intense curiosity combined with a tiny bit of unease about the rules of this new world.
