📖 SYNOPSIS

"Locodol" follows high school girls Nanako and Yukari as they unexpectedly become the local idols of their town. Their journey begins when Nanako's uncle requests they take on this role. The girls soon realize the reality of their idol lifestyle is far from the glitz and glamour they might have imagined. Their performances are limited to appearances on low-budget cable television, interviews at the local shopping center, and concerts held on the roofs of department stores. The financial backing for their idol activities comes directly from the town's tax revenue. The anime explores the comedic struggles and everyday lives of these unlikely idols as they navigate the challenges and unique circumstances of their small-town entertainment careers. The series highlights the contrast between the idealized idol image and the realities of their humble, community-funded performances.
