As they pause, Saya turns away, tears glistening in her eyes. When questioned by Riki, she denies crying, then suddenly confesses, 'I've liked Saya-san for a long time.' Riki's surprise is palpable, left to wonder when his own feelings for her began. The raw emotion of this moment cuts through the tension of their mission.

Saya, ever direct, scolds Riki for his lack of 'tension' and declares his uselessness if he simply stands. She demands he kneel, intending to use him as a stepping stool to reach a high rope. Despite Riki's embarrassment and his comment about her weight, Saya insists, her determination outweighing his discomfort. With a shared leap, they scale the obstacle, revealing a hidden staircase.

Descending into an eerie, blue-lit chamber, they encounter a massive stone golem. Saya, embracing her role as spy, insists on fighting it herself, urging Riki to find its weak point. She leaps into action, firing her gun, skillfully using the golem's bulk as a launchpad. Riki, guided by Saya's instruction, seizes an opening and plunges a sword into the golem's glowing eye, defeating it.

The victory is costly; Saya falls, her leg injured. When Riki carries her, she scolds him for calling her heavy, claiming his smile makes her 'out of sorts.' Blushing, she asks him to close his eyes, then surprises him with a tender kiss. Riki is left stunned, a growing sense of foreboding filling him as he realizes he might lose her.

Recovered, if a bit flustered, Saya continues the adventure, admitting her nervousness despite her outward confidence. She then reveals their ultimate prize: a time machine. Saya wistfully expresses a desire to go back to childhood, restart her life, and meet Riki again. She boldly asks Riki for a date if they succeed, a proposal he blushes at but readily accepts.

Their path is blocked by Tokikaze-shun, whom Saya identifies as the 'last boss.' She swiftly draws her gun, but when Tokikaze-shun vanishes, she declares that Riki cannot come with her. This is her fight, her destiny, she insists, despite Riki's desperate pleas. The heavy door closes, trapping Riki outside as Saya steps toward her solo battle.

Behind the closed door, Saya fights and is gravely wounded. Riki pounds on the door, his cries of 'Saya!' echoing with mounting despair. Saya lies bleeding, her dying thoughts on the promised date. As her body fades, leaving only her gun, Riki collapses, screaming her name. Her spirit briefly appears to bid him goodbye, vanishing as he reaches for her, leaving him truly alone with her abandoned weapon.

Filled with a raw, desperate resolve, Riki picks up Saya's gun. He aims it at the door that separated them and fires, blasting it open. He charges through, confronting Tokikaze-shun, but is quickly overpowered. As Tokikaze-shun points the gun at Riki's head, Riki closes his eyes, seemingly accepting his fate.

Just as the fatal shot is fired, Saya's spirit appears, intercepting the bullet meant for Riki. She declares, 'You won't hurt Riki-kun!' and strikes Tokikaze-shun, injuring him, before vanishing completely. Her act of protective devotion, even in death, saves Riki once more.

Riki, witnessing Saya's spirit disappear, falls to his knees, mourning her second loss. But then, a surge of anger and resolve takes hold. He retrieves Saya's gun again and unleashes a barrage of shots at Tokikaze-shun, who falls, finally defeated. Riki stands over his enemy, breathing heavily, but the victory brings only emptiness and isolation.

Alone in the chamber, Riki picks up Saya's gun, clutching it as a tangible memory. He leaves the labyrinth, stepping out into the night. Gazing at the school, he appears to make a decision, a faint smile gracing his lips as he walks towards it. A single tear falls as he enters, closing the door on this chapter.

Back in his room, Riki sees Saya's uniform and sadly holds her gun, yet a bright light fills the screen as he is shown holding hands with a smiling Saya. They embrace in a white void, a peaceful, loving reunion. This suggests that their promise of a date, of a future together, finds its fulfillment beyond the grim realities of the labyrinth, perhaps in memory, in another time, or in a deeper truth.
