So...I tried to chill for a few days before picking it up again in hopes that I'd be able to view this episode in a better light. I really, really tried. I vibe with the opening song, I like the game references, even the art style passes T_T I just really, absolutely can't stomach the trope of this anime. This is so crazy, man... Though to be fair, I find Sam's circle of friends slash guild members to be really funny and nice to finally see. All their talk in that pizza (kinda arcade?) place reminds me of when characters talk about quests XD Anyway, my new fave is the butler, LOL I really feel bad for Sam about this whole thing, though, but Olivia sure cracked me up at that suggestion with Edgar XD That aside, I think Olivia's grown so fast on me. I like her; she's a menace but also very supportive of her friends.

Ugh, the trope of the super-feminine love rival with enormous assets who's way more attractive than the protagonist, who's so different and relatable, is so outdated it feels like I've stepped back into 2010s YA novels. No, thanks. We have such cliché characters that there's literally an ojousama in this story (SET IN LOS ANGELES) with her butler, who might as well be named Sebastian. By the way, what on earth was that joke about the pizzeria employees being scared of the big black man? So tasteless, seriously, how did they approve that joke? The truth is, the only strong point of this story is the video game references and the glimpse into the experience of being an indie developer; the rest is so clichéd I wouldn't be surprised if it was written by an AI. The conversation with Olivia is very nice and fixed the previous flaws, but it's truly exhausting to watch a story that has some really good moments alongside such lamentable missteps.

The appearance of a new character makes the series even more interesting. Besides that, details of the world-building are further explained in this episode. The atmosphere in this episode feels both relaxed and exciting. Some funny moments also happen.
