Legend of Lyon Flare
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Lyon sits undisturbed and peaceful — until a fleet of alien invaders rolls in under a sadistic warlord named Glode. His army isn't just there to conquer — they're there to break people. Standing between them and total domination are three fighters: Zeke, a swordsman who can hold his own in a brawl; Neris, a swordswoman with a strong moral backbone; and Flare, a psychic whose abilities change how the fights play out in ways you don't expect from a 1986 fantasy setup. The second episode shifts the threat — a malevolent force has taken over Lyon's forest, and when Neris and her brother go missing while investigating, it falls on Flare to figure out what's lurking in there. Two episodes, self-contained, no bloat. The animation carries that rough, hand-drawn 1980s texture that fans of older OVAs tend to appreciate — it feels like a product of its era in the best way. The mix of psychic combat layered over traditional swordplay gives it a slightly different rhythm than pure fantasy action. If you liked the gritty medieval fantasy tone of Kenpuu Denki Berserk or the elemental combat dynamics in Kaze no Stigma, this scratches a similar itch in a much smaller package. Worth noting — this is a hentai OVA, so go in knowing what that means for the content. If that's your wheelhouse and you want something with actual plot alongside it, this holds up reasonably well for what it is.
