READTHROUGH
Kaede's Memory
The episode opens in a nighttime city, but the real story begins in the past. Kaede Saionji drives, her thoughts drifting to 2045 and a shared childhood with Seria Aiba. Both girls saw spirits then, a secret bond that her father, Saionji's Father, deemed too powerful. He separated them, fearing their combined spiritual force. Kaede still carries the weight of that decision, resolved to protect Seria, who she believes remembers none of it.
Temple Attack
Seria Aiba wakes in a peaceful temple, sunlight streaming through shoji screens. She stretches, noting how well she slept, completely oblivious to a flickering digital error message on the ceiling. This tranquility shatters violently as mechanical drones burst through the windows. They target Seria with red laser sights, but just as they prepare to fire, Osho intervenes. He wields a staff glowing with blue spectral fire, swiftly destroying the machines and leaving Seria shaken but safe.
A Shared Secret
After the attack, Osho drives Seria through the city, explaining the drones were after an authentication chip in her. These chips are common, he says, but Seria is surprised by how they were weaponized. For the first time, she tells someone about her spiritual sight and finds acceptance. Tears well up in her eyes; the burden of hiding her true self has lifted.
New Home, New Faces
Seria bathes and walks the temple halls, humming a haunting melody as she looks out at the garden. She feels a connection to the spiritual energy, stopping only when she realizes she is being watched. Later, at breakfast, she meets the temple residents: the energetic Akari, the refined Riku, and the quiet Rui. Akari jokingly calls Kaede 'Obasan,' a nickname Kaede accepts, explaining her traditional lifestyle. Osho surprises Seria by promising meat for dinner, a light moment amidst the introductions.
The Hidden World Revealed
Seria finds Osho chanting before a golden Buddha, the sutra filling the room with palpable spiritual energy. He explains his power can be overwhelming, offering to teach her. Outside, Rui commands spirit constructs, a panda and a bird, made of 'Koryoka,' spirit energy. Osho then reveals the 'Horyokai,' a parallel spirit world, and TERA's role in managing the 'Double Line' to prevent spiritual energy from being weaponized. He warns of another group using an app called MiucS, hinting at a secret war and the danger it poses to humanity.
First Mission
Riku brings an urgent message from TERA headquarters: a spiritual disturbance has been detected. Osho decides to bring Seria on her first field mission, a trial by fire. He gives her a small red spirit-bead bracelet, explaining it will guide her back if they are separated. Seria accepts it, a mix of anxiety and determination on her face.
Into the Horyokai
The group teleports into the Horyokai, a stark industrial landscape of glowing pipes and shadowy spirits. Osho's staff illuminates their path, while Kaede guards the rear with her spiritual bow. Formless, aggressive spirits emerge, hissing and lunging. Osho easily blasts them away, instructing Seria to stay close. Their journey is cut short by a powerful, sophisticated ghost, Nicola Tesla, dressed in early 20th-century attire. He traps Seria in a lightning cage, remarking on her immense spiritual capacity, which exceeds his own.
The Awakening Song
Under extreme duress, Seria begins to sing. Her voice resonates, disrupting Tesla's lightning cage. Her latent power manifests as three distinct spiritual silhouettes: Cleopatra, Caesar, and Antonius. They possess her, granting her incredible combat abilities. Transformed and glowing, Seria unleashes spectral attacks that force Tesla to retreat. The sheer force of her awakening leaves everyone, including Osho, in shock.
Aftermath and Revelation
Tesla flees, and the group regroups, Seria physically drained and confused. Osho explains she performed a rare 'Double Song' with multiple historical ghosts. He notes her unprecedented resonance with the powerful Roman leaders who possessed her. Back in the human world at sunset, Kaede confesses her childhood bond with Seria. She reveals their past separation was due to their dangerous combined powers and expresses her joy at their reunion, wanting to protect Seria from her destiny.
A Vow to Sing
Over a celebratory meat dinner, the group discusses the day’s events, the mood serious despite the feast. Osho declares TERA’s ultimate goal: the destruction of MiucS and the restoration of spiritual freedom. Seria, now understanding the stakes, stands. She commits to the cause, declaring her intent to use her voice so everyone can sing freely. The episode ends with the group united, facing the looming threat of Nero and his ghost generals.
A Ferret's Friend
The final segment shifts to a young man named Minato, stressed over finances at his desk. He is surrounded by several small, anthropomorphic ferret creatures. They happily devour cream-filled buns, oblivious to his financial woes. Minato sighs, realizing he spent all his money on their snacks, but smiles warmly when they offer him a bite. They thank him for his kindness, a brief, lighthearted epilogue.
