okay so Kamogawa Days is basically the warm hug you need after season 1 ends and i was not prepared for how much it would get to me

the whole OVA is essentially Madoka back home in Kamogawa while Lan and Muginami are off in their own worlds, and the three of them are just... keeping in touch through letters. which sounds simple but the way it's framed — months passing, seasons changing, Madoka moving up a year in school — genuinely made me a little emotional. these three girls saved the world together and now they're just sending each other new year's cards like normal teenagers and somehow that's more touching than any mecha fight

the part where Lan and Muginami randomly run into each other on a tourist planet that's literally a replica of Kamogawa is such a good detail. like even across the galaxy they keep gravitating back to that place because of what it means to all three of them. and the fact that they immediately decide to find a birthday present for Madoka together before going their separate ways again?? best friends behavior

the sports festival scene with Asteria broadcasting it across space so Lan and Muginami could watch was so sweet and so very Asteria — doing something genuinely heartwarming in her own slightly over-the-top way

and then Madoka's birthday surprise at the end with the matching bracelets from both of them — yeah i felt that. after everything they went through that little gesture carried a lot of weight

it's not action packed at all, it's just 43 minutes of vibes and friendship and it's honestly exactly what this series deserved as a sendoff. if you loved the main cast this one's a must watch
