📖 SYNOPSIS
"Ladybirds' Requiem" follows Eiko, a girl whose life is irrevocably altered by a tragic accident: the unintentional killing of two ladybirds. This event triggers an overwhelming sense of guilt within her. The guilt manifests as a disturbing illusion, where the buttons on her blouse appear as the deceased insects. This visual distortion is compounded by a growing fear regarding the existence of numerous versions of herself in other places. Submerged in a continuous cycle of fear and remorse, Eiko struggles to cope with her internal turmoil. As a means of processing her emotions, she begins a compulsive act: sewing hundreds of buttons into the inside of her skirt, a physical manifestation of her psychological state. The animation explores themes of guilt, fear, and the fragility of the self.
