Episode Context

Coming off 'A Bridge to Tomorrow,' which focused on mending the fractured relationship between human and demon territories, this episode shifts gears into historical reflection, grounding viewers in the lore that underlies those ongoing tensions. At episode 68 of 78, the series is deep in its endgame setup, and this historical primer on Shin Makoku's origins feels deliberate, laying contextual groundwork before the push to the finale. It directly precedes 'What Must Be Protected,' signaling a transition from reflection back to active stakes.
