Synopsis
Dead last in the history of the Royal Knight Academy, Ryuuto Henge leaves with no prospects and a reputation as basically a joke. So naturally, the kingdom ships him off to Boan, a remote backwater district that nobody wants anything to do with, supposedly haunted by a dangerous succubus named Shamsiel Shahar. She's been draining the life force out of every man in the area, which tends to make you unpopular. The plan is clearly to get rid of Ryuuto without technically executing him. Here's where it gets interesting: Shamsiel's powers don't work on him. At all. For a creature whose entire identity revolves around that ability, meeting someone immune is genuinely disorienting, and the dynamic that develops between them is more layered than you'd expect going in. This is a 2-episode OVA from 2012 based on a visual novel, so it moves fast and doesn't overstay its welcome. If you've watched Queen's Blade or Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World and wanted something with a similar fantasy-meets-adult-content mix but a tighter, more focused story, this scratches that itch. The character designs lean hard into the fantasy aesthetic, and there's genuine charm in watching the supposed loser protagonist navigate a situation everyone else assumed would finish him off. Keep expectations calibrated — it's a short adult fantasy OVA, not an epic — but within that lane, it delivers.
