Holy! It started off really entertaining, with the mecha already in action. I really like the animation and the story, and when the mecha arrived, it immediately grabbed my attention. I just wish the mecha were hand-drawn rather than CGI, but nonetheless, the first episode was amazing!
The first episode of Kuromukuro grabs your attention right away. As mysterious "demons" appear in the form of robots, an ancient samurai suddenly shows up and takes one down with nothing but his sword. The mix of traditional samurai and futuristic technology is exciting, and the episode ends with plenty of mysteries that make you want to keep watching.
This was such a fun premiere. Kennosuke acting like a furious samurai completely lost in the modern world shouldn't work as well as it does but it's fantastic. The pacing is insanely fast, you are dropped right into the chaos of the alien mechs but the serious tone mixed with his culture shock is pure gold.
