📖 SYNOPSIS

"Kuro ga Ita Natsu" is set in Japan during the summer of 1945. The story centers on Nobuko, an elementary school girl, who rescues a small black cat from crows. Desperate to keep the cat, she faces opposition from her parents due to the scarcity of food during wartime. Nobuko, however, perseveres and manages to convince them to allow her to keep the cat, which she names Kuro. Kuro quickly becomes a source of laughter and joy for the family, offering a much-needed respite from the harsh realities of their situation. The narrative explores themes of family, resilience, and finding hope in the face of adversity, all against the backdrop of a nation grappling with the escalating war.
