It’s honestly hard to take them seriously, even when the episode hints at more serious moments. But that just shows how well the comedy works. It keeps everything light and entertaining no matter what’s going on.

This is one of those episodes where a tragic moment is co-opted into comedy, and knowing how the show works, it fits perfectly. It also introduces us to one of the few "normal" characters in the setting, providing the protagonist with a sort of goal to stay where he needs to be.

I love Kazuma Satou’s expressions whenever he gets disgusted by one of Darkness’s antics. The snow sprites had such an adorable design. I definitely didn’t expect that kind of thing to happen to Kazuma in this episode.
