Kita no Majo to Yeti
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Imagine a solitary witch eking out an existence in a frozen northern wilderness, doing her magical chores in near-total isolation — except her companion is an enormous Yeti who acts less like a terrifying cryptid and more like an oversized fluffy dog. That's the whole vibe of Kita no Mazu to Yeti, and it works way better than it has any right to. This is technically a PV — an April Fools' mock-trailer for a fictional film based on the manga — so you're looking at a single short piece rather than a full series. But even in that tiny runtime, the animation establishes this gorgeous, snow-blanketed world and a genuinely charming dynamic between the witch and her massive snow beast. There's something really satisfying about watching cozy domestic moments play out against a harsh, freezing landscape. The Yeti bumbling around while the witch just tries to get through her day gives it a warmth that sneaks up on you. If you liked the quiet, rural magic of Flying Witch or the "caring for a tiny mythical creature" appeal of How to Keep a Mummy, this hits a similar note — just scaled way up and set in a winter wonderland. There's also a touch of that gentle fantasy atmosphere from The Ancient Magus' Bride, minus the heavy drama. It's short enough that there's zero commitment involved. Worth the few minutes just for the aesthetic alone, honestly.
