Episode Context

Coming directly after episode 1's look at the coalition war's aftermath across the seven nations, 'Ominous Shadow' narrows the lens to Qin's internal power struggles, specifically Lü Buwei's maneuvering within the royal court. As the second episode of a 26-episode season, it functions as critical political setup, bridging the post-war fallout into the military mobilization teased by episode 3's title, 'The Punitive Force Moves Out.' This early stretch establishes that Season 4's stakes won't just be fought on battlefields.
