King Kong - 001/7 Tom Thumb

"King Kong - 001/7 Tom Thumb" follows Professor Bond's son as he discovers and befriends the giant ape, King Kong, on an island in the Java Sea. Together, they must protect Kong from the sinister Dr. Who, who has malicious intentions for the ape. The series is structured with a King Kong story, followed by a Tom of T.H.U.M.B. segment in each episode. Tom of T.H.U.M.B. is a gag cartoon featuring a secret agent and his oriental sidekick. The animation for the Tom of T.H.U.M.B. segments was handled by different character designers or animation directors than the King Kong portions. This was the first cartoon TV series animated entirely in Japan expressly for American television.
