I see that Fujimaki sensei hasn't lost his touch in making an engaging sports battle. If he is referencing Scott Sterling then that was a great move 🤣. This episode proves my point that Tenma is really a straight forward idiot just like that blonde small forward of Teiko junior high. There's no indication on who will be the next person to challenge Oogami at the end but I guess the suspense is part of the charm of this episode.
