*EDIT (Read this first)
I will not change my previous score but damn the second episode was a complete shocker.
If you're here thinking this is a remake of the 2004 anime 🤨, then tough luck. Consider this more of a return of the anime, with the usual antics, modern animation, and an entirely new voice cast. Did the new VAs do a good job? Well... hearing their chant felt a little off since it just doesn't compare to the original and I prefer the old voice of Kururu since it perfectly captures his character. Aside from that, the rest are doing fine and fit their roles pretty well. Was it a flashy return? Better watch the episode to see if it is 😉

Much appreciated. The wife's a major fan of the original so we might check it out.
I know this is pretty late but upon watching the second episode, it felt like I was completely bamboozled
the new chant not comparing to the original is such a mood, that one always gets me too
