Karada de Kaiketsu Hyakkiya Tantei Jimusho
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Running her own detective agency in Azamati, a city mostly populated by kemonomimi, catgirl detective Hikari Hyakkiya finds herself on the trail of someone, or something, that has been targeting the women there. The culprits turn out to be yokai, supernatural creatures causing trouble in ways that are decidedly not safe for work. Hikari takes the cases, and that's basically the setup for this four-episode OVA from Mousou Senka. Yes, it's hentai — no point dancing around that. But if you're into the genre, there's a bit more going on here than usual. The detective framing gives each episode a loose mystery structure, and the yokai angle pulls from actual Japanese folklore, which at least makes the supernatural encounters feel grounded in something. The catgirl character designs are a clear draw, and the blend of urban detective noir with old-school monster lore gives it a distinct personality compared to most titles in this space. If you've watched something like Taimanin Asagi or Kuroinu and wanted a slightly more story-driven wrapper around the explicit content, this scratches that itch. It's not trying to be Bible Black in terms of atmosphere, but it's in that same neighborhood of 'there's actually a setting here.' Four episodes, a clear throughline, and a protagonist with an actual job description — for what it is, it's reasonably put together.
