Kanan, a beautiful devil with a taste for human souls, descends upon a high school to find her next meal. Her target is Youji Kyougi, a seemingly insignificant human. However, instead of being devoured, Kanan and Youji enter into a romantic contract. This unexpected turn of events throws Kanan, who has lived for millennia without experiencing love, into a whirlwind of new emotions. She finds herself navigating the unfamiliar territory of first love, including going home together, holding hands, and going on dates. The innocent and simple-minded devil struggles to understand these human customs, leading to comedic situations and frequent outbursts of "You damn inferior creature—!"
