Kamisama Kiss OVA
Oshimeter
Synopsis
A homeless high school girl named Nanami Momozono accidentally became a land god and got stuck with a fox familiar named Tomoe who's equal parts protective and infuriating. This two-episode OVA picks up after their relationship-defining kiss, right when things should be smooth sailing. Instead, Nanami catches Tomoe with a mysterious black box and hears him say he doesn't need her anymore. Naturally, she's not going to let that slide. The second episode sends the crew to a hot spring after Nanami overhears Mizuki, her snake familiar, suggesting she's gotten too dependent on Tomoe — which, fair or not, stings enough to make her try proving otherwise. These are short side stories from the manga, so they lean into the comedy and romantic tension rather than big plot arcs. The charm here is watching Nanami refuse to be a passive love interest; she's stubborn, a little reckless, and genuinely funny when she's scheming. Tomoe, meanwhile, does that classic tsundere thing where he pretends not to care while obviously caring way too much. TMS Entertainment keeps the art warm and expressive, nailing the balance between yokai weirdness and shoujo sweetness. If you enjoyed the god-meets-mortal dynamic in Oh My Goddess or the cozy supernatural vibe of Kamichu, this is the same neighborhood. Think of it as a dessert course — best enjoyed after watching the main series, but satisfying on its own if you just want something light, comedic, and romantic with a mythology twist.
