Synopsis
After unexpectedly coming into possession of a creepy old house in the middle of nowhere that's supposedly crawling with evil spirits, Minato Kusunoki discovers he has some kind of natural exorcism ability he didn't even know about, and without lifting a finger, the place is completely purified. Problem solved, right? Well, now that the house is the cleanest spiritual real estate in the countryside, gods start showing up. A mountain deity here, a peculiar minor god there, they all want to hang out at the Kusunoki residence because it feels nice. And that's basically the show. Minato just... lives his life, tends to the estate, and coexists with a rotating cast of divine houseguests who each bring their own quirks and mythological baggage. If you liked the gentle supernatural atmosphere of Natsume's Book of Friends or the cozy god-adjacent vibes of Kamichu!, this is right in that lane. The countryside setting is gorgeous: Juvenage is doing something really nice with the art direction, blending soft pastoral backgrounds with these ethereal deity designs. The soundtrack leans into traditional Japanese instruments, which adds a lot to the mood. There's no big conflict or looming threat. It's iyashikei through and through, healing anime meant to decompress with after a long day. Fans of The Morose Mononokean will also find familiar ground here, though Kusunoki-tei is even more laid-back. Sometimes you just want a show where nothing bad happens and the scenery is pretty. This is that show.

I wish Yamagami would overexert himself every single time. His exhausted form is just so cute, man, LOL! On a side note, the little fight between the two gods was quite fun. Though, I've got to say that the overall craftsmanship in this episode is just okay. It would've been more epic if the fight had been animated more intensely. That said, I don't really mind since I vibe with the story anyway.
Haha, the misunderstanding in this episode is actually quite funny. Though, I don't think it's an overexaggeration, to be honest. Kusunoki is low-key OP. On another note, It seems like the punk exorcist has had some character development as well. Actually, I had almost forgotten about this guy already, LOL!
How I wish to be surrounded by animals like this too. It's just so cozy to watch! That said, I wish every episode were as comfy as this one. Seeing everyone just eat and chill is what I love the most. On a funny note, I didn't expect to see this side of Yamagami, LOL! What a sore loser.
Haha, bird whisperer? That's such a cute nickname, LOL! Speaking of cuteness, I really find the wind spirits and Yamagami so cute! I wish Yamagami could stay in this form forever! On a more serious note, the story this time is very much to my liking. I just can't help but have fun watching Kusunoki do odd jobs for the goddess. It's simply so chill.
This episode is just okay. For one, I really like the cozy atmosphere. Seeing everyone just chill and eat most of the time is very much to my liking. Though, the action and adventure aren't really that great, to be honest. There's just no depth to them, and they feel like they're only there to make the story longer.
