This episode was mind blowing. Fight scenes were more intense. Vice captain was so brutal to Kaiju no 8 but still he got chance to escape and saved the life. Climax scene was about to bring more chaos.

A solid episode. More lore explained and the perfect calm before the storm. The ending blew my mind. Highly recommended.

This is a really satisfying stop about all the chaos. It is a great opportunity to see how, after a hard battle, the team takes a moment to rest and celebrate all the effort during the battle, and also a good watch about tasty food, be prepared with a snack!!

A really great episode, with a 1-on-1 battle I didn't expect, but one that has me excited to see the true potential of the humans in this series—and, at the same time, the intense hatred this character feels toward the kaiju. The animation and the pace of the combat are excellent

Not gonna lie, this one stressed me out. It feels like Kafka’s running out of luck. Every scene had me thinking “this is it, he’s getting exposed.” The tension carries hard here.

1 v 1 between vice captain and Kaiju 8 was the feast to savor on . Loved the action style and the style of the story direction was top level .Truly mind blowing

The episode shines through tension and trust. Kafka holding back against Hoshina shows control and respect, making the broken-blade moment even more powerful. While No. 9 evolving in the shadows builds quiet dread before the next storm.

The highlight is definitely the fight scene between Hoshina and Kaiju No. 8 - where there's high stakes involved for both, even if it ended on a stalemate. The aftermath was handled well, teasing us a future where Kaiju No. 9 returns, and everyone's hard work is repaid by a lovely dinner.

Great episode, and awesome fight from the 2 guys. I mean you get that MC always wins but nah, it was shown that Kaiju No. 8 is not invincible. Great animation top tier indeed. Cant wait to go to the next episode.

Highly thinking that AoT plays a big inspiration on this anime - Levi particularly. Hoshina, on the other hand, is the vice-captain who believes in and wants to protect his subordinates even when he's unknowingly training himself in how to kill one of them.

The balance between action aftermath and squad bonding works really well here. The celebration scenes make the division feel like a real family, which makes the final sky-side threat reveal hit even harder and more exciting.

In this episode, I was really happy to see Kafka finally become a full-fledged officer of the Third Division, bringing him one step closer to fighting alongside his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro

If you love Levi's fighting style from AOT, you'll love Vice Captain Hoshino's fighting style as well!
I absolutely loved this episode; it had a good amount of action, comedy, wholesomeness, and future threats that tease and solidify the main antagonist of the show!

Kafka and Hoshina fought with immense strength despite clearly still holding back their full capabilities, it did not fail to conclude a powerful and visually enticing fight scene. To conclude and celebrate the mission's success, the force put on a feast.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned at the two-thirds mark of a 12-episode season, Episode 8 follows the seismic revelations of Episode 7 — Kafka's transformation fallout and the dangerous emergence of Kaiju No. 9 — and uses that momentum to resolve immediate tensions while resetting the board. It functions as a pivotal bridge chapter, consolidating character dynamics within the Defense Force before the narrative escalates again. Episode 9's 'Raid on Tachikawa Base' signals that the relative calm here is short-lived, making this a critical setup for the season's final act.
