Post-win plans get risky real quick and you can feel the tension building. Some solid training bits too, so it’s not just talk. Kinda sets up bigger things while pushing everyone to level up. Nice mix of hype + buildup.

Reno really said “bet” and pushed way past his limits… and yeah, it shows. That power looks insane but it’s clearly not free. Iharu coming through hit harder than expected—a bromance moment. 😂This one’s intense, a bit painful, but worth it. Don’t skip.

this episode balances the new gen and the old gen perfectly. reno and iharu's dynamic finally clicks. but the real gem? kafka learning to box under hoshina. seeing him actually hold his own in hand-to-hand, even against a beast like hoshina, shows growth beyond kaiju powers. hoshina acknowledging him and promising to make him stronger? that's the mentorship arc i didn't know i needed.

This episode is somehow dragging for too long. Kafka's arc is emotionally draining and the animation and music was a letdown. Also the comedy aspect that S1 have had before, now lacks on this season way more than it used to have. Kind of disappointed on how it's supposed to be.

Furuhashi and Ichikawa's team up was amazing! This episode also showed Kafka's enlightenment about his importance and his purpose to fight. With the help of our favorite Vice-Captain, Hoshina, of course! (I might be biased, but I love him)

The episode introduces new combat techniques, offering steady progression with moderate impact, resulting in a mild to good and professionally balanced viewing experience.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned at the three-quarter mark of an eleven-episode season, 'Destiny' pivots away from the team-focused combat of Episode 7 ('Wall'), where Iharu and Reno's battlefield synergy was the highlight, and refocuses on Kafka's individual growth under Hoshina's guidance. This introspective beat is strategically placed before Episode 9 ('Omen'), which escalates dramatically with a simultaneous kaijuu incursion across Tokyo. It functions as the calm before the storm—deepening Kafka's readiness so the coming chaos hits with both narrative and emotional weight.
