Things finally start making sense and the enemy feels way more calculated. Plus some new power setups that look kinda insane. Not nonstop action, but it’s the kind of ep that gets you hyped for what’s next.

I thought we’d get a comeback… nah, this one just hurts. Everything feels heavy after that loss, and Kikoru? yeah, you feel it. Peak emotional damage. I’m frustrated, sad, and still hyped. Definitely not skippable—this is pure setup + pain.

this episode is pure setup but it's the kind that makes you lean forward. reno finally getting his moment with no. 6's suit hit different, you can see him fighting through the pain because kafka inspired him. the scene where he passes out, that was genuine stakes. i liked how they keep the visuals sharp, especially during reno's test, and the new captains add weight to the war table. no action but the tension is thick. solid.

The flow of the story in this episode just feels not solid and all over the place. The character growth and world building is somehow nice for once added with strategy. Good thing that the sounds were kind of fixed for this episode thus Hoshina saved this episode for once.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 5's exploration of personal limitations and the desire to grow stronger, 'Compatible User' pivots toward the tactical reality of integrating new powers within the Defense Force — a necessary escalation as threats mount. Sitting at the exact midpoint of the 11-episode season, it serves as a critical bridge between early-season character groundwork and the intensifying conflicts ahead. Episode 7, titled 'Wall,' promises to raise the stakes further as internal dynamics shift and adversaries close in.
