Episode 17 is a masterclass in the show's ability to blend the eerie and the domestic. The garçon's introduction, with its sinister giggles and warnings about late night reservations, perfectly sets the mood. The test of Courage appetizer is classic Japanese ghost story territory a schoolyard fright fest that everyone can relate to, the Welcome Home entree is a beautiful and tragic story about loss and longing, playing on the universal fear of not being able to say goodbye to a departed loved one.
Oooh, test of courage! I love when an anime has that trope—it always ends up being fun, and they definitely didn't disappoint with this episode. The surprise factor is getting pretty repetitive, but I'm honestly not complaining. It works on me every time even if I already predicted it. 🤣 Good ep.
Well this was a sad episode. I love the way they go back in time to properly match the stories vibe, like the 1900's. Pretty nice episode, creepy and sad
