Synopsis

Bodily horror as punchline, surrealist nightmare logic, and deliberately crude animation are Kago Shintarou's calling card — and this anthology delivers it in 15 short films, each running roughly two minutes. There's no plot to follow, no characters to track. Every episode is its own weird little pocket of wrong, built around a single absurd scenario that escalates until it bottoms out somewhere between a dark joke and a genuine gut punch. One moment it's fart humor, the next it's something genuinely unsettling, and the line between those two things gets blurry fast. The animation is deliberately rough, which somehow makes it feel more unhinged rather than less. Kago came from underground manga, and his sensibility translates directly — nothing here is trying to be prestige, it's trying to get under your skin while you're still laughing. If you've watched something like Visions of Frank or sat through Agitated Screams of Maggots and thought "I want more of whatever that was," this scratches a similar itch. It's closer to experimental short film territory than traditional anime, so don't go in expecting a story. Go in expecting seventeen small, strange provocations from someone who finds horror and comedy genuinely interchangeable. Not for everyone, clearly, but if weird short-form stuff is your thing, it's worth the two-minute commitment per episode.
