Kafun Shoujo Chuuihou! The Animation
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Imagine tiny yellow pollen grains drifting through the air each spring replaced by beautiful anthropomorphic beings floating down from the sky looking to get very friendly with the human population. That's the actual premise here, and it commits to the bit completely. This 4-episode OVA from 2008 follows Rui, a wealthy young woman whose maids can't quite keep up with her needs — and the arrival of these pollen-evolved beings conveniently changes that situation. The concept is genuinely funny in a dumb, dedicated way: taking something as mundane as hay fever season and rebuilding it from the ground up as an excuse for erotica. The humor is baked into the worldbuilding rather than just being wallpaper, which separates it from more straightforward entries in the genre. If you've watched something like Discipline: The Record of a Crusade and wanted something with a more absurd comedic angle wrapped around it, this scratches a different itch. Similarly, fans of Bible Black who want something lighter in tone rather than dark and dramatic will find this a decent palette cleanser. It doesn't take itself seriously for a single frame, and that self-awareness keeps it from feeling stale. Four episodes means it doesn't overstay its welcome. It's a weird, committed concept executed with some actual craft behind the animation. Worth a look if the premise alone made you smirk.
