Focuses on transformation—both literal and thematic—while deepening the arc’s darkness. The tone is unsettling.

I LOVE this episode. The iconic scene of Todo and Takada-chan and Yuji locking in. The building up to the final fight between Yuji and Mahito is kind of dragging out a little, but that makes it even more satisfying to watch Mahito’s downfall in the end.

Itadori finally faces Mahito in a brutal battle of wills. This moment marks Yuji's growth as he accepts his role as a curse hunter, creating a dark analogy where the prey becomes the predator. A visceral shift toward a colder, more relentless personality

The audacity! Mahito being scared of getting killed by Yuji after killing so many people already. And just when I started to feel that victory was close, Geto suddenly arrives. This doesn’t look good.

Takada-chan for the win! The way she "appears" to help Todo lock in during the fight is high-tier comedy in the middle of a war zone. Takada is the real MVP for keeping our favorite Bestie focused.

Yuji pulling himself back, step by brutal step. The theme of what it means to keep going even when everything's gone hits different here. Some original MAPPA scenes added that actually work. Pacing recovers and starts reloading the tension for the final stretch.

heartfelt teamwork, and lighthearted humor. Todo’s antics, the duo’s synchronized fighting, and Itadori’s visible growth make it both entertaining and emotionally impactful.

This is very satisfying as yuji regains his will to fight after last episode. He is ready to fight to death with mahito.

the episode is very satisfying. Action after action feels luxurious. The horror side of Itadori starts to be seen here. There is nothing missed for me.

Black Flash flurry. The graphics for the finale of Mahito vs. Yuji are a psychedelic masterpiece. Suspense turns to a desperate hunt through the snow

After Mahito's maham in previous episodes, it feels incredible to see Mahito flee from Yuji out of pure fear, mahn I'm hooked. Yuji comes out on top over his enemies, its very satisfying. This episode was a visual spectacle indeed, as things begins to wrap up.

Mahito's Domain Expansion in 0.2 seconds to land ONE hit and Todo's response?? The tactical IQ on display in this fight is INSANE. Both sides are adapting mid-battle and every exchange feels earned. Yuji landing that Black Flash?? The CATHARSIS. I screamed. Neighbors heard me.

Yuji and Mahito face off in a brutal showdown as Mahito evolves into an even deadlier form. Todo joins in, their teamwork explosive, and the new cursed techniques make every move unpredictable.

This episode keeps it real. The fight scenes are pure hype, sharp and fluid. Peak bro moments and a hard carry. Plus, they nailed the “I am you” scene. Word of advice: play Skyfall by Adele in the background to make it hit even harder.

Battle between Yuji, Todo and Mahito by far is the most intense fight this anime ngl.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned as the penultimate stretch of the Shibuya Incident with only two episodes left in the season, 'Metamorphosis' builds directly on the escalating conflicts of 'Right and Wrong 3' and channels them into transformative character moments. This episode serves as a critical bridge, deepening the consequences of battles already fought while setting the stage for 'Transformation 2,' which continues exploring the fallout of characters evolving—or breaking—under the arc's relentless pressure. At episode 21 of 23, the season is in full endgame mode.
