Synopsis

Hatsune Aoyama, a young woman in a sailor uniform and black stockings, meets a minor politician at a quiet travel lodge and, for reasons that gradually unfold, decides he's worth following out of that lodge and into his life. That's the setup, and the two-episode OVA from studio PoRO doesn't waste much time getting into the relationship between them, including the obvious gap in status and age that sits at the center of everything. It's adapted from a Blue Gale Light visual novel, so fans of that game will recognize the character dynamics and the tone, which leans into the tension between Hatsune's composed exterior and the choices she makes for herself. The animation style is fairly typical of PoRO's output — clean character designs, nothing experimental. If you've watched JK to Inkou Kyoushi 4 feat. Ero Giin-sensei, this shares similar DNA in terms of setup and character archetypes. It's a short watch at two episodes, so there's not a lot of room for deep story development — this is more about atmosphere and character chemistry than plot complexity. If you already enjoy adult visual novel adaptations and want something compact with a specific kind of slow-burn dynamic between two people navigating a pretty uneven power arrangement, this delivers exactly what it promises, nothing more.
