I was really shocked by what happened when Karen arrived on the mainland to meet her mother.

I can feel a high emotional tension shift to the mainland from this episode overall. The visual palette steps away from the lush greens of Urashima, replacing them with sterile, neon-lit convenience store aisles and rainy city streetscapes that mirror the characters' displacement

Good episode. There's some solid character development, and I'm really liking the mystery around the world. It keeps making me want to know more, especially after that ending.
