The first episode of the shoujo manga I've been waiting for. I've always been a fan of Yamamori-sensei's work, from Hirunaka no Ryuusei to Tsubaki-chou. So, I was excited. But seeing the animation in this episode was a let down. It was stiff, like when Kohaku was descending the stairs, it looks like the picture was moved not animated. I admit, it's pretty on paper, but there's little to no animation. The story is good for a first episode, both characters were introduced just enough for us to want to know more. I'm hoping the animation will get better tho.

I have to admit that the animation falls a bit short compared to the manga. Even so, I still love Kohaku and her incredibly straightforward personality. It’s an episode that sparks curiosity and leaves you with a lively, electric vibe, like meeting someone who completely catches you off guard.

I’m glad Kohaku seems quite direct and forward, maybe a bit dull, but I wonder if they’re going to keep that trait. I’m happy to see a man in a romance anime being manly. I also like that Yoi seems really uncomfortable because of how she’s being treated as a prince, even though she wants to be treated as a princess. This episode was quite good; I have high expectations.

Intronya cerdas, soundtracknya enak, pacenya mantap.
Huaaah kek angin segar nonton romance anime lagi.
Artnya rapi, plotnya kuat, karakternya menarik.
Kicking my feet!! Ketawa-ketiwi kek orang gila.
Popcorn material banget lah.
Keyword untuk episode ini adalah BOUNDARIES!!
Tolong yaaa anak perjaka dan anak gadis, jaga jarak!!

As someone who read the manga, I expected a different art style. It feels more clean/cute than I imagined, but Yoi still looks beautiful. I like that they kept her internal conflict and the pacing is good, though I wanted more tension with Kohaku.

EPISODE CONTEXT

As the series premiere, this episode carries the full weight of establishing both protagonists and the thematic foundation — identity, perception, and the tension between how you're seen and who you are. There's no prior context needed; everything starts here with Yoi and Kohaku's first encounter. The subtle dynamics introduced between them serve as the launchpad for the relationship exploration that will define the season ahead.
